Teaching cadets to fly! I just spent 2 weeks as CFI at the Desert Eagle National Flight Academy in eastern Washington. I had a great time with my 4 cadets in our Cessna 172S model. Nineteen cadets were put through an exhausting schedule of daily flight training and ground school, learning from each other and from the 5 flight instructors. We were all roused before dawn, and started training very early each morning in order to be able to fly before the daytime temperatures got too hot. I’m proud of my cadets’ accomplishments and was able to solo 3 of them and pre-solo 1 of them! That’s an incredible accomplishment for them, to achieve so much in 2 weeks. For cadet protection purposes, I can’t identify my cadets or show their images, but you can bet they were all beaming with joy and well earned pride in their accomplishments!
